Ben Rhodes / No. 88 Alpha Energy Solutions Chevrolet Preview: Watkins Glen International

“My mindset approaching Watkins Glen will be a little different than it would for an oval track. I only have two road course races under my belt so I have a lack of experience, but there’s a wealth of knowledge available in my JR Motorsports teammates. The key to success at all the road courses will be patience. I have to minimize my mistakes and survive. I feel like many people may take themselves out of competition by going too hard too soon.”

Ben Rhodes Spun and Wrecked Late at Iowa Speedway; Finishes 30th

“It was an unfortunate incident that happened in tonight’s XFINITY Series race with the No. 1 car. I’m aware of it going forward next time. It’s bad because as a rookie, my primary goal out here is to run the entire race, log laps, gain experience in the Alpha Energy Solutions Chevy so that I can get better and improve. You can’t improve with a torn up race car, and what’s even worse is that we were in position to meet both goals with completing all the laps and getting a top-10 finish.”

“I am more excited for my return to Iowa than I’ve been for any of my three previous XFINITY starts. Since I have already run there, my confidence level is much higher and I know that we will have an even better Alpha Energy Solutions Camaro than before, thanks to the hard work and collaboration of the entire JR Motorsports team.”
