After winning the first two 2011 Summer Shootout Series races at Charlotte Motor Speedway (NC) in the Legends Young Lions division, Ben Rhodes went back to victory lane on Tuesday, June 21st, during the round three action at the track. However, after taking the win, INEX, the sanctioning body for Legends Car racing, impounded his car to be checked thoroughly to make sure the car was legal.

On Wednesday, June 22nd, INEX went over the entire car with a checklist of over 30 items, including putting the engine on a dyno. INEX told the team as well as media that the car was legal and within the rules of INEX and Legends Car racing.

Rhodes has been deemed the official winner of the Young Lions Legends Car feature of the Summer Shootout Series third round action, making him the only Legends Car driver of the 2001 series season to sweep the first-three races.
