Ben Rhodes Driver of the #9 Stanley – Alpha Ford Fusion for Marcos Ambrose Motorsport
15-year-old Kentucky racer Ben Rhodes, driver of the #9 Stanley / Alpha Energy Solutions Ford Fusion for Marcos Ambrose Motorsport, is heading to Tri-County Motor Speedway (NC) on Friday, August 10th, for the 150-lap UARA-STARS Late Model Stock event. The race is the 11th stop on the series tour and the only event at the Hudson, North Carolina, track in 2012. Rhodes, in his rookie season, currently sits 10th in the series points standings, 283 points out of first place.
Rhodes on Racing at Tri-County Motor Speedway: “I have never raced at Tri-County Motor Speedway. In fact, I have never seen the track before, but I am excited to go there. I have heard a lot of great things about the track and how fun it is to race. I am looking forward to the challenge of racing there.”
Rhodes on Putting Concord Behind Him: “We had a really fast car at Concord Speedway and we enjoyed leading laps up front. It was a bit disappointing to lose the engine, but at least we did it while leading and running really well. The entire Marcos Ambrose Motorsport team put last week behind us even before we loaded up the car and we were already thinking about Tri-County.”
Rhodes on Current Points Position: “We would like to be further up in the point standings than 10th, but we have had some bad luck strike us, such as getting spun out earlier this year and a couple motor failures. We have been strong in just about every race before having trouble, so while we wish we were closer to the front in points, we have had a great season so far in my rookie year.”
