Quotes | Ben Rhodes

“Getting back in the No. 88 Alpha Energy Solutions Camaro for the second week in a row is going to be a huge boost to my confidence. It will give me a chance create somewhat of a rhythm and be more comfortable with the car from the start. I’m hoping this will also allow me to build from what I learned last week at Kentucky Speedway and help us get a great finish.”

“Since this will be my first NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Dover, I’ll be spending time on a simulator, watching last year’s race, attending pit practice at Hendrick Motorsports and spending time at the JRM shop with my team to prepare myself.”

Notes | No. 88 Team

BOUNCING BACK AT DOVER: Rhodes and the No. 88 Alpha Energy Solutions team are looking to rebound from last weekend’s race at Kentucky Speedway after a late-race accident marred their chances at a strong finish. While the JRM rookie has never competed at Dover International Speedway in the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS), he notched a start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series last year as well as clinched the 2014 K&N Pro Series East championship at the “Monster Mile.” Rhodes hopes to pull from that past experience and use it towards a stout run in the Hisense 200.

ROOKIE SEASON: In eight NXS starts this season, 18-year-old Rhodes has a pair of top-10 finishes, earned at Iowa Speedway and Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

HEAR BEN: Rhodes will join MRN’s Joe Moore and Jeff Striegle in the broadcast booth at Dover on Friday at 5 p.m. as a guest analyst for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East season finale. As the reigning champion of the series, Rhodes will provide insight from the driver’s perspective.

MEET BEN: Fans will have two chances to meet Rhodes this weekend. He’ll stop by the JRM merchandise hauler on Friday from 4-4:30 p.m. and participate in the NXS autograph session on Saturday from 10:30-11:15 a.m.

NEXT UP FOR RHODES: Following Dover, Rhodes will have one more start in the No. 88 Alpha Energy Solutions Chevy in 2015. He’ll race in the final event of the season at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Nov. 21.
