LOUISVILLE, KY (September 17th, 2014) – On Wednesday, September 17th, 2014, NASCAR officially announced 17-year-old Louisville, Kentucky, native and NASCAR Next driver Ben Rhodes as the 2014 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE) Sunoco Rookie of the Year title. The honor adds to his already-impressive season of racing, which also included the 2014 NKNPSE championship.

 

In the first 15 races of the 16-race season driving the No. 41 Alpha Energy Solutions Chevrolet with Turner Scott Motorsports, Rhodes picked up 11 Sunoco Rookie of the Race awards along with his six poles, five wins, 11 top-five finishes and 13 top-10 finishes.

 

Rhodes joins current NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers Joey Logano, Kyle Larson, and Ryan Truex as the only four drivers in NKNPSE history to win the Sunoco Rookie of the Year and championship in the same season.
