LOUISVILLE, Ky. (August 15th, 2013) – One week after earning his first-two career NASCAR Whelen All-American Series victories with Hawk-McCall Motorsports at Kingsport Speedway (TN) and Hickory Motor Speedway (NC), Louisville, Kentucky, native Ben Rhodes will head to South Carolina to race his No. 41 Alpha Energy Solutions Late Model Stock at Greenville Pickens Speedway in twin 40-lap races on Saturday, August 17th.

Even though Rhodes has never competed at Greenville Pickens Speedway, the 16-year-old NASCAR Next racer recently tested at the track, which is the home track for his race team.

“We had a great test on Monday,” said Rhodes.  “Lee McCall and the Hawk-McCall Motorsports team got the car converted over from our Kingsport win and it was handling really well right off the truck.  Before the track got too greasy, we were able to get it fast and ready for Saturday.”

Rhodes has had some high-profile teammates this season at Hawk-McCall Motorsports with NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Kyle Larson and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series multi-time champion Tony Stewart being on track at the same time.  However, Rhodes will have a new teammate this weekend.

“Randy Hawkins will be in the “Alice” chassis Saturday while I will be in the “Princess” chassis,” explained Rhodes.  “Randy co-owns Hawk-McCall Motorsports with Lee, and wanted to get back in the car and have some fun with us this weekend.  We talked a lot Monday during the test about how our cars were handling, and hopefully we can go there Saturday and both finish up front.”

In motorsports, momentum from a great race weekend can carry throughout several weeks of racing.  Rhodes hopes the momentum from his first-two NWAAS victories will help him this weekend.

“Going into this weekend with two wins last weekend is big for us.  However, just like last weekend, we are racing against local drivers that race there every weekend.  They know the track and how it handles throughout the race.  We are going to give it our best shot and see what happens.”

In 2013, Rhodes is sponsored by Alpha Energy Solutions as well as Alliance Comfort Systems, Kentucky National Guard, Refrigerant Rescue, and Park Community Federal Credit Union.
