To prepare, I have been combing over telemetry from the past as well as watching races and spending time in a simulator. I also learned a lot by watching Kevin Harvick at Texas a couple of weeks ago.”
“Our No. 88 Alpha Energy Solutions Chevy was fast right off the hauler, considering we had no practice. I was a little loose to begin with and got loose on the exit of the turn early in the race. I went to correct it and I hit the apron and lost control.”
“Getting back in the No. 88 Alpha Energy Solutions Camaro for the second week in a row is going to be a huge boost to my confidence. It will give me a chance create somewhat of a rhythm and be more comfortable with the car from the start. I’m hoping this will also allow me to build from what I learned last week at Kentucky Speedway and help us get a great finish.”
“While I have never been to Road America, I ran it on iRacing and watched previous races to at least learn the track. I think Road America has an excellent mix of high and low speed corners with plenty of passing zones that will lend itself to fantastic racing!”
“Overall, it was a successful weekend here at Mid-Ohio. I think the Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200 went very well. I was thrilled to have Alexandra (Nationwide Patient Champion Alexandra James) on the box. She did an awesome job this weekend – she was part of the crew, as I told her. She had a great time hopping in the race car before the race, hanging around with everybody and with the gifts that we gave her. I had a great time working with her and everybody from Nationwide Children’s Hospital.”
