Quotes | Ben Rhodes

“Racing with JR Motorsports this year in the No. 88 Alpha Energy Solutions Chevy has been very informative. I feel like I have learned so much in just a short amount of time but I know that I have only just scratched the surface with 10 races. As a whole, the year has given me a new perspective about racing with the stars of the sport. I am looking forward to the new challenge of riding the wall at Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend. This will be a new and exciting experience for me! To prepare, I have been combing over telemetry from the past as well as watching races and spending time in a simulator. I also learned a lot by watching Kevin Harvick at Texas a couple of weeks ago.”

Notes | No. 88 Team

WELCOME TO MIAMI: JR Motorsports (JRM) rookie Ben Rhodes will make his first start at Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend, wrapping up the season in the No. 88 Alpha Energy Solutions Chevrolet Camaro. While this is his first race at the 1.5-mile speedway, Rhodes does have two NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) starts at similar tracks this year (Chicagoland Speedway and Kentucky Speedway), with a best finish of 21st at Chicagoland.

ROOKIE SEASON WRAP UP: In nine NXS starts this season, 18-year-old Rhodes has a pair of top-10 finishes, earned at Iowa Speedway and MidOhio Sports Car Course.

88 RECAP: The No. 88 Chevrolet Camaro, known as the JRM “all-star” car, has been piloted by five different drivers in 2015: Josh Berry, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kevin Harvick, Kasey Kahne and Rhodes. With only Homestead-Miami left this season, the drivers have combined to earn two wins (Harvick at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Auto Club Speedway), eight top-five and 18 top-10 finishes in 32 races.

MEET BEN: Fans will have a chance to meet Rhodes this weekend. He’ll stop by the JRM merchandise hauler on Friday from 4:30-5 p.m. ET for an autograph session.
