LOUISVILLE, Ky. (June 17th, 2013) – On Friday night, June 17th, Louisville, Kentucky, native Ben Rhodes raced the No. 41 Alpha Energy Solutions Ford with Hawk-McCall Motorsports at Anderson Motor Speedway (SC) in the UARA-STARS 150-lap feature event.  After starting 10th, the 16-year-old NASCAR Next driver was able to wheel his way to fourth before contact after a late-race restart knocked him back a few positions, finishing seventh.

With rain shortening his test the weekend before and practice day on Thursday, the Hawk-McCall Motorsports team, led by crew chief Lee McCall, worked on race runs during Friday’s practice session to make sure Rhodes had a great car at the end of the race.

When the green flag dropped, Rhodes floated between seventh and 10th until he started making his charge forward with less than 50 laps to go.  In less than 10 laps, Rhodes moved from ninth to fourth and was reeling in the top-three cars when a caution flew.  On the final restart with less than 10 laps left, Rhodes was knocked up the track, losing ground to the front pack.  On the white-flag lap was also sent up the track by a competitor.  He crossed the line in seventh.

“We are going to move on from Anderson and keep going on our own path,” said Rhodes.  “I have two great teams I drive for with Hawk-McCall Motorsports in Late Models and Turner Scott Motorsports in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, and some great sponsors behind us.  We are going to stay positive and get ready for the next race.”

The No. 41 machine is also sponsored by Alliance Comfort Systems, Kentucky National Guard, Refrigerant Rescue, and Park Community Federal Credit Union.
